The Fanelli Family
Cammi Fanelli grows up on Long Island, NY and meets
her future husband, Michael in High School. On a lark she fools around
with a Ouija board and becomes terrified by this encounter. She does her
best to squelch her strong psychic abilities because of this frightening experience.
After a small windfall of money she is supportive of Michael’s desire to
relocate to the Adirondacks. So, she uproots her family and heads north with
her two children in tow. She is a strong woman with fine tuned maternal
instincts that is equipped to handle even the most tragic situations.
Michael Fanelli is an easygoing guy, caught up in the
adventure of relocating and starting a new life. Seeking a better position,
Michael decides to gamble that his new job is the answer to some money problems
his family is having. Driving past a seemingly abandoned property in the Adirondack’s
one day Michael becomes enamored of a house and decides that it is the perfect place
for his family.
Jenna is the oldest child of Cammi and Michael Fanelli.
After moving to the mountains she begs her mother and father to buy her a
horse. She keeps her new pony housed in Mrs. Titus’s barn and takes loving
care of her horse called Lightning.
Renee is the youngest of the Fanelli girls. She is very
close to her family and idolizes her older sister. But, Renee has inherited
many qualities from her mother. Notably, she is psychic, and because of her
pure innocent spirit her mind is open to all forms of psychic phenomena.
The Treadwell Family
Benjamin Treadwell is a man who learns early on from his
mother to persevere and work hard. He gains recognition for his unique style
of building and proceeds to build an empire in that trade. The house on
Old Mill Road is constructed in late 1897. Contented, he sits back enjoying
the wealth he has amassed. In the local neighborhood he is widely recognized
as a gentleman of unquestionable character. He is especially enamored of
his only son, Benny. Benjamin envisions that one day Benny will follow in his
footsteps and take over the business and their elaborate home. But there are
forces that lay in wait to undermine the strength of his character.
Elizabeth Treadwell is a supportive wife who assists her
husband along the path to power and wealth. She decides right after her two
children are born that she will work outside of the home. After her momentous
decision, which was almost unheard of at that time, she proceeds to operate
the mill office with an iron fist.
Benny Treadwell is born in the house on Old Mill Road.
He an optimist with a light hearted demeanor until tragedy strikes a heavy
blow. He spends most of his lifetime recovering from that trauma. During the
years spent living in his house he is oblivious of the enormous powers that
lie in wait to pounce upon an unsuspecting soul. Eventually he is forced to
recognize what lies in wait in the house he calls "home".
Catherine Treadwell is the youngest child from Benjamin
and Elizabeth. She grows up protecting her brother in a motherly fashion.
As time progresses she attempts to alert him to the overpowering forces that
she recognizes before her brother accepts they are real.
Geraldine Will is a woman obsessed with her only son,
Floyd. She is invited by her sister, Elizabeth Treadwell, to live in the house
on Old Mill Road. After moving into the Treadwell residence to take care of
Benny and Catherine, she is unnerved and made jealous by the relationship her
son shares with Benny. Although she goes through the motions of caring for the
family she is possessed by evil ulterior motives.
Floyd M. Will is a delicate, sweet child who idolizes his
cousin, Benny. He goes to great lengths to prove that he can keep up with his
cousin just so he can spend time with him. As soon as he moves into the
Treadwell home he becomes the proud caretaker of Benny’s tree fort. Keeping
close company with his cousin causes his mother Geraldine, to become green
with envy. And, protecting Benny is not acceptable behavior.
